NSE Quotes – %change/Average Price/Total Traded Quantity/Turn Over

The following are the some of the fields that are available under ‘Price Information’ section of NSE website.

%Change

It’s the % change of the price, w.r.t. previous close.

(Last Price – Prev.Close ) / Prev.Close * 100.

The value obtained by this formula is rounded to two decimal places and shown as % Change.

Average Price:

During trading hours it represents the average of all prices of transactions that happened till that point in time. At the end of the day, it’s the average of all prices of the transactions on that day.

Total Traded Quantity:

It’s a volume measure. It’s the number of shares of the company traded on NSE till that point in time.

Turn over in Rs lakhs:

It’s the value of all transaction that happened at that point in time. A Lakh is equal to hundred thousands. This value is used to select ‘Most Active Securities’ of the day.

    Can you please tell me what is the difference between the “Total trded quantity” listeed and price information column and “Quantity traded” under security wise delivery position table.

    What is a good % for the ratio of deliverable qty to traded quantity?

    When you asked this question in 2008, I really surprised why the numbers don’t match and even sent an email to NSE support. I didn’t get a response, though.

    But today suddenly it came to my mind and just had a look at the NSE website. Now it seems they have corrected the glitch. Both the figures match :-)

    I didn’t get you. Are you looking for stock quote details for more than 5 years. If so, we don’t have it.
