Tata Motors Limited is India’s largest automobile company, with revenues of Rs. 35651.48 crores (USD 8.8 billion) in 2007-08. It is formerly known as TELCO. Tata Motors was established in 1945 and it started producing locomotives. It was listed in NYSE in 2004.
In 2004 it acquired Daewoo’s truck manufacturing unit. In 2008, it finalized a deal with Ford Motor Company to acquire their British Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) business, which also includes the Rover, Daimler and Lanchester brand names. Presently Indian public are awaiting for ‘TATA Nano’, for which tag price has been set as Rs 1 Lakh.

TATA Motors products include Indica, Indigo, Safari, Sumo, Estate and Sierra in passenger car segment.
